The Little Things…

Do you remember the days when basic moral principles of ‘thank you…s and excuse and how are you, the hello…s use to be the order of the day… (Old fashion habits?)’. Do we still teach our young ones for example; when they are crossing over to sit next to somebody, that the right thing to do is to say excuse me (sometimes you may even witness folks just cross over another person with everything they have got is all in the next persons face). Back in the days both youngsters and seniors alike use to be so courteous and kind and respectful.

You remember the days when basic moral principles would see:

Young people giving up their seats to their elders were the order of the day. It is so lovely when I now take the public transport and I see a male person offering his seat to one of us and a youngster offering his/her seat to someone else, it brings back memories of the old days. When I am up and about doing my daily routine and come in contact with people and I do smile with someone and they return their smile it makes such a difference…

Thought:

Back in the days as a child growing up in the West Indies in Primary school we use to be taught what the teachers called ‘memory gems’…Boy oh boy. Could we ride them…as if we were doing our favourite song!

A little memory Gem we normally say as a child: Politeness is to do and say the kindest things in the kindest way’…

Words of wisdom: A soft answer turneth away wrath but grievous word stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Note: If for whatever reason you feel you want vent your displeasure to someone (in an angry tone) why not do the reverse and answer with gentle words…surprise the enemy…

Be Blessed
